William Phebus

  • Qualifications:
    • Mr. Phebus has worked in the field of aerial surveying for more than twenty-five years. His experience includes management of many large aerial photography contracts for the U.S. Geological Survey, U.S. Department of Agriculture, several state DOTs and DNRs, many counties and cities, and various other large projects. Supervisory duties have included flight crew training, flight mission planning and consultation, and camera maintenance. In addition to operating every type of aerial camera on projects throughout the United States, Mr. Phebus also has several years' experience with film processing, both in automatic processors and developing tank kits. Further related experience includes several years of photo laboratory and surveying work. Mr. Phebus is also a licensed pilot.

Steve Krohn

  • Qualifications:
    • Mr. Krohn is a pilot and a certified Aircraft & Powerplant mechanic as well. His duties at Alt-Terra Survey, Inc., are twofold — he operates the survey camera while in the air, and also performs maintenance on our aircraft. Maintenance duties include all aspects of maintaining our planes, as well as upkeep of our hangar facility. Photography duties include camera operation, data processing, and developing film.

Klaus Eckardt

  • Qualifications:
    • Since joining Alt-Terra in 2001, Mr. Eckardt has flown hundreds of projects at flight altitudes of 1000 AGL to 21,000AGL. His include piloting our planes, pre- and post flight data processing, digitizing of flight maps, film developing in our Versamat, and quality control procedures. He is fluent in several languages, including Spanish, French, Swedish, and German.
